The United States Postal Service (USPS) maintains an established “Exception” policy that applies to more than 17,000 ZIP codes nationwide. Shipments originating from or destined to these ZIP codes may not qualify for traditional retail pricing and are instead automatically rated at the USPS Commercial price level, regardless of where the shipment is entered.

What this means for Pack & Kin locations

• This policy is not new, nor is it specific to Pack & Kin or independent stores.
• It applies nationwide and is system-driven by USPS based on logistics, routing, and service areas.
• In affected ZIP codes, commercial pricing is the correct and authorized rate, even when a shipment might historically have appeared retail-eligible.
